Camden Youth MP Aya Elgool performs her spoken word piece at the youth conference.
Young people, youth workers and organisations who support young people came together at Camden Town Hall on Tuesday 7 November to celebrate Youth Work Week 2023.
Stalls showcasing the amazing variety of youth organisations and youth work in Camden were set up on the civic floor of the Town Hall before an event in the Council Chamber, chaired by local young people, which comprised a quiz, speeches, films, spoken word and poetry, singing and music.
The youth conference was organised by Camden's Integrated Youth Support Service and was attended by the Council's own youth centres, community youth and play projects, the Young Camden Foundation, the Roundhouse and local politicians, including the Mayor of Camden.
Guests were shown a new film, which highlights the huge range of activities and opportunities available for young people in Camden, and also heard about some of the fantastic work going on in our local youth centres, including a recent international volunteering programme led by Somers Town Youth Centre.
