Celebrating Black History Season - Camden Rise

Camden’s Black History Season has officially kicked off and is on until 15 December. We have a jam-packed programme - with events and activities ranging from art exhibitions, workshops, live music, and history talks to poetry, supper clubs and much more. 

Throughout the season we are shining a light on Camden's most influential leaders, activists and changemakers, giving you the chance to learn and explore the past, present and future of Black culture. Some of the highlights include:

• We Were Here Exhibition - The exhibition celebrates the lives of significant individuals of African and Caribbean heritage who have lived, worked or studied in Camden. The stories represent triumph over adversity through not only survival, but also determination and strength. Taking place from 14 October to 21 October at Senate House
• Digital Illustrator Karis Richards presents ALBUM: a series of portraits of iconic past performances by Black artists on the Roundhouse’s Main Stage, up until 12 November
• Lens to the Runway Digital Installation and Artist Takeover Exhibition: From outdoor multimedia installations at Outernet to fashion shows, exhibitions and panel talks at Labs House, this series of cultural interventions will immerse audiences in an experience that places Black voices at the emotional centre. Taking place from 18 October to 22 October
• Jazz Café: Throughout October, the Jazz Café brings you a series of gigs and concerts celebrating black music.
