Free and low-cost Easter holiday activities for children and young people

The Easter school holiday is coming and there's lots of free and low-cost sports, creative and fun community activities for children and young people to get involved in.

Holiday Activities and Food programme. Camden’s Holiday Activities and Food (HAF) Easter programme runs from 7 to 21 April and is open for children and young people aged 5 to 16 who live in Camden and are eligible for free school meals. The programme offers free, fun activities and nutritional education - from learning to make healthy meals, to creative activities, including photography, drama, arts and crafts, and sports such as football and basketball. A free hot meal is included as part of each day’s activities. The Camden HAF programme is co-ordinated by Young Camden Foundation on behalf of the Council, with funding from the Department for Education. Find out more and book your places

Sport and physical activities. The Camden sport and physical activity team, and the Council’s leisure contractor Better, offer a range of fun free and low-cost activities over the holiday at locations across the borough, including Talacre Community Sports Centre and Cantelowes Sports Pitch. Play schemes. Find low-cost holiday play schemes for children aged 4 to 12, offering a range of arts, crafts, sports, games and trips, near you. Visit the website to find out more and book places.

Pirate Castle’s holiday scheme. Have fun, get active and make waves this Easter holiday with the Pirate Castle, Camden. Children and young people aged 8 to 17 – up to 25 with low to moderate support needs -  can enjoy a range of paddlesport and canal boating activities that develop physical, technical and social skills, boost self-confidence and are a great way to let off steam.
Each day includes two activity sessions with a short lunch break - packed lunch / refreshments required. Children and young people also have the chance to achieve a range of formal and informal accreditations. Find out more and book your places.

3Ts (Thriving Through Togetherness) free community event. Taking place at 23 Castlehaven Road, NW1 8RU on Tuesday 8 April, from 1pm to 4pm. Camden Council’s Detached Youth Team and local voluntary sector partners have organised a free community event for residents, children and young people of all ages. Activities include: Easter Egg Hunt, 2pm to 3pm; speak to Camden’s Mobile Health Team and your local council services; find out about local services and activities for children and young people, including sports and physical activities; grab refreshments while they last.
