Project Choice graduates at a recent celebration event.
Camden’s annual Preparing for Adulthood event is an opportunity for parents and carers to meet professionals and service providers to find out more about post-18 and post-25 support for young adults with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND), including learning disabilities, in Camden.
The focus this year is on building a good life locally and what this means, from supported internships and work opportunities, to healthy living and local accommodation options with support and what advocacy means in ensuring all disabled young people’s voices are heard and well understood.
The event is hosted by Camden Young People's Disability Service, Camden Special Parents Forum, Camden’s SEND Service and Camden Integrated Learning Disability Service at the Greenwood Centre in Kentish Town, from 10am to 2.30pm on Friday 11 November, and it features stalls and presentations – with free lunch, refreshments, wellness area and goodie bags for attendees.
